Hi! I'm Stacey Funt: a physician, coach, lifelong, global traveler, wife, and mother. Amongst my passions is a branch of medicine called Lifestyle Medicine that taps into the ability of nutrition, physical activity, stress reduction, rest, and social systems to support wellness. So, I put these facets together to create what I call Lifestyle Health Adventures

I love adventure, the excitement of a new experience, and hiking in nature. For the past 37 years, travel has been a large part of my life. Even when I was in training and had very little money, I found ways to travel. Having trekked on every continent (except Antarctica), I slept on wooden floors in hill tribe huts in Northern Thailand, had my sandwich stolen by a vulture in Tanzania, had a profoundly spiritual moment under the stars in the Amazon jungle, and danced with the locals in Nepal. These, and other experiences, are what I love about travel.

My husband and I went to the Galapagos Islands and saw "mother/baby" everywhere. It felt like the Universe was telling us something, and very shortly after that, we had twins! To have special time with one child at a time, I created "mom and me" trips starting when they were eight, which lasted until they graduated high school. Our family vacations were a mixture of adventure travel, national parks, camping, and a cabin off the grid on Lake Winnipesaukee.

As for my training, I majored in psychology at Emory University, attended NYU Medical School, and did my residency in diagnostic radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. I trained to be a health and wellness coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches, a life coach with the Coach Training Institute and am currently in a travel coaching program.

I am now creating Lifestyle Health Adventures for groups and others. Join me on one of my next adventures, or contact me to design your own.
