ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
WHO THIS TRIP IS FOR:
This trip is for spirited and open-hearted women, typically in their 40s to 60s. We are women who enjoy moving our bodies in nature (moderately – not sprinting up mountains or climbing Everest). We seek adventure, self-care, and the joy of being in community with other women.
HIKING:
Here's a breakdown of the hikes for Days 2 and 3:
Day 2:
-
Scout's Landing: (3.6 miles, 1100 ft climb, approximately 3 hours) - Scout's Landing is an unforgettable hike known for its ascent, featuring the iconic 21 switchbacks of Walter's Wiggles. However, the effort is more than worthwhile, as it rewards you with breathtaking views at the top that span the deep canyon and the soaring cliffs. The panoramic vistas from this vantage point are simply spectacular, offering a remarkable perspective of Zion's unique landscape.
-
Riverside Walk: (1.9 miles, 193 ft climb, about 1 hour) - Riverside Walk is a leisurely hike that takes you along the Virgin River, leading to the awe-inspiring Narrows. As you stroll beside the tranquil waters, you'll be surrounded by towering red rock formations, creating a serene and visually captivating experience.
Day 3:
-
Canyon Overlook Trail: (1.0 miles, 163 ft climb) - Canyon Overlook Trailis a brief yet impactful hike located just outside the park, with private transportation taking us to and from the trailhead. This hike offers stunning views of Zion's canyon from a unique vantage point, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the grandeur of the park. While the trail is relatively short and not very steep, it provides an adventurous experience as it winds through a narrow canyon, over slickrock, and features sections with steps, drop-offs, and railings for safety. Along the way, you'll encounter charming alcoves and small caves, adding to the trail's allure. At the trail's end, you'll be rewarded with sweeping vistas of the main canyon, featuring iconic red rock formations, massive sandstone cliffs, and the meandering Virgin River far below. This viewpoint is an excellent spot to take in the park's breathtaking beauty.
-
Upper Emerald Pools Trail: (3.0 miles, 200 ft climb) - This hike takes you through a diverse landscape, from lush, fern-lined grottoes to the upper pools themselves, which are nestled in alcoves amidst towering red rock walls. The emerald-colored pools beautifully contrast with the surrounding desert landscape, creating an unforgettable experience.
These hikes showcase the best of Zion National Park's breathtaking scenery, from towering cliffs to serene river walks and hidden emerald pools. Your journey through this extraordinary landscape promises unforgettable moments and photo opportunities at every turn.
TRANSPORTATION:
We will have private transport from Las Vegas to Springdale, Utah, where Zion National Park is located. The drive takes a little over three hours (please note that Utah is one hour ahead of Las Vegas).
Upon arrival in Springdale, a convenient public shuttle operates approximately every 15 minutes, with a stop right in front of our hotel. Springdale's charming two-mile-long strip culminates at the entrance to the Zion National Park. Within the park, a dedicated shuttle system ensures easy access to all the trailheads.
During our e-bike excursion, we can explore the canyon by bike and park near the trailheads. On the next day, the trailhead for the Canyon Overlook Trail is located just outside the park and a private vehicle will transport us to and from this remarkable site.
Continuing the adventure, private transportation will be provided to take us from Springdale to the tranquil Red Mountain Resort. Once at the resort, bicycles will be available to access the nearby Snow Canyon State Park.
To ensure a smooth return home, a ticket on the St. George Shuttle will be booked for your journey back to Las Vegas Airport, aligning with your flight time. Please share your flight information by March 1st to secure your spot on this convenient shuttle service.
